As Acupuncture was allowed to resume, it was interesting to see patients returning - no longer with coughing and colds(!), but still with ailments which can be eased and removed.
I have treated depressions, anxiety, fertility, muscular pains, chronic backs and fingers. Skin conditions and digestion also re-appeared, like allergic reactions and intolerance. I am pleased to say that in all cases we saw improvements, with some from the very first treatment (doctors consultations and prescribed medicines can sometimes claim the same!). I have seen many patients with complaints they say never existed before covid/vaccination, including fatique, headaches, rashes and clots. It is difficult to know for sure, but all those symptoms, like long covid, are eased by clearing channels and boosting/balancing the immune system. Stay Safe.

In the second lockdown, Acupuncture was confirmed as a clinical service and was allowed to continue with certain safeguards.
It was so nice to continue to treat my patients during this time, on the slightly expanded schedule, and albeit 'masked up'. And so we carry on with the harsher Lockdown #3, making enhanced assessments and continuing with the precautions. The Xmas decorations are down and its back to a routine we are all getting used to. Don't forget that Acupuncture works equally on mental health as well as physical ailments. If you need to be revitalised and put into a positive or relaxed frame of mind, then give it ago. Think of it as practice for the vaccination jab. I'm back and practicing. Only in my Chalgrove clinic at the moment, where I have made the necessary safeguarding changes for treatments. All is provided (sanitiser, masks etc) and be assured that apart from the hands on treatment, social distancing is maintained and you won't come into contact with any others. It's been so nice to re-start and treat old clients, resuming treatment and getting feedback about how it has been missed. I wouldn't practice acupuncture if I didn't believe, and know, the difference it makes to so many conditions. I could fill a book (or a blog) with anecdotal examples of clients who walk out with visible improvement and feeling great. I took the time during lockdown to take some further CPD (continuing professional development) and attended courses and received support from the British Acupuncture Council. Traditional acupuncture receives regular inputs from the field regarding treatment approaches and protocols. There is always something new to learn. My partner in our London clinic is 'stuck in Italy' since lockdown and so I am resuming just in my clinic in Chalgrove for now. I look forwards to treating old and new. -Fariba Lic.Ac MBAcC |
